Propitiation
Romans 3:25.. God presented Jesus as a sacrifice of atonement.
“Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God:” (v 25).
While describing how God provided us with undeserved righteousness, Paul goes to the Old Testament (see Lev.17:11). But now, the life offered as sacrifice is not a spotless animal, but Christ. God removed our punishment through the “perfect” sacrifice of Jesus Christ, this meant his death, the shedding of his blood.
Propitiation is the act of God, moved by his great love for mankind, whereby He ACCEPTS the blood of Christ as complete and satisfying sacrifice. Thus establishing a means of reconciliation between God and man. Oh Hallelujah!
The blood of Jesus is the propitiation for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2), the complete benefits are available only to those who by faith accept this provision for sin.
The classic theological term for this process, (sacrifice of atonement) is propitiation (hilasterion). This word signifies a substitution sacrifice whereby sinful people can be reconciled (brought back) to a righteous God! Christ took our place in receiving the wrath of God poured out for sin. On the cross, Jesus stepped into the line of fire in front of us who deserved the wrath of God, and it was aimed at us! Now because of what Jesus did on the cross, God can accept all of us who put our trust in Jesus.
Are you trusting Him today? Those of us who have benefited from this expression of God’s love ought to love one another. (1 John 4:10,11).

The Book Of Romans Bible Study
In the book of Romans chapter 1, Paul is generally talking about the gentile world (he will get to the Jews a bit later.).
Romans 1:21.”Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
The gentile world knew about God..for the invisible things about God has been shown in nature, so they are without excuse.(verse 20).
I will now focus on Romans 1;29-32. It certainly seem that these people has become “full of themselves”..having rejected God, failing to glorify Him..being un-thankful, have lead them down the slippery slope of sins and ungodliness. God gave them over…
Look at verse 29..being filled with. This phrasing means a state of being filled to the point of overflowing.
Their minds have become “depraved” now, meaning morally corrupt, wicked, perverted, deviant, so their thought patterns and actions follow suit in unrighteousness.
Paul listed over twenty different ways in which the mind can be focused once turned away from God. Here are some similar scriptures, read 1 Cor. 6: 9-11(we read last week), Galatians 5: 19-21, and Col.3:5.
This list taken from Life Application Bible commentary..THE BOOK OF ROMANS.
Every Kind of Wickedness--The opposite of righteousness, the absence of justice.
Evil--What is sinister and vile.
Greed--Relentless urge to get more for oneself.
Depravity--A condition of moral evil.
Envy---Desire for something possessed by another.
Murder--Greed, envy, and strife, left unchecked, could lead to even killing another in order to obtain what is desired.
Strife--Competition, rivalry, bitter conflict.
Deceit--To trick or mislead by lying.
Malice--Doing evil despite the evil that has been reeived.
Gossips--They create problems by rehashing idle talk or rumors concerning others’ personal lives.
Slanderers--Destroy another’s good reputation.
God-haters--Not only do they ignore God; some actively hate him and attempt to work against any of his influences.
Insolent--Arrogant behavior toward those who are not powerful enough to fight back. This particularly refers to a person’s attempt to shame another without mercy.
Arrogant and Boastful--Making claims of superior intelligence or importance.
Invent ways of doing evil--Trying new kinds of perversions.
Disobey their parents--When God’s authority is tossed aside as worthless, parental authority cannot be far behind. How unfortunate that the parents, in many cases, had set the example. By ignoring God’s authority, they set the example for the children to ignore parental authority.
Senseless--Unable to discern spiritual and moral things.
Faithless--Not keeping one’s promises or doing one’s duties; unreliable, untrustworthy.
Heartless--Unfeeling, unkind, harsh, cruel.
Ruthless--Without pity or compassion, merciless.
Let’s take a look at verse 32. “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they that commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them”. Romans 2: 2 let’s us know what will happen to those who commit such things. You may ask..but how did they know God’s death penalty. Remember..we are made in the image of God, man has a basic moral nature and conscious. Even psychologists attests that it’s indeed rare for a person not to know “right from wrong”, they say this is a extremely serious personality disorder very hard to treat.
Most people know when they are wrong; however they may not care. Some say “I realize it’s wrong but “I want it”..I know it’s dangerous… even deadly.. But it’s worth the risk. Try as they might, man knows that sin deserves death. (Romans 6:23).
I will send another study help soon. Looking to hear each of you Thursday night.
Blessings!

Abstaining from Complaining...a MUST
Phillippians 2:14 states..."Do all things without murmurings and disputings. That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God. without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world."
Do you want to be a "light" in the world..to the world? Do not engage in complaining!
I join with my friend and fellow worker in the Lord, Apostle Carmichael and proclaim the month of April...A no complaining month. Hopefully...followed by a no complaining life!!
I call my campaign ..ABSTAINING FROM COMPLAINING "
Since it is God who worketh in us, both the will and to do of his good pleasure, (Phil 2:13)...there can be no reasons for murmuring and complaining. God works in us...to do good!...not to complain..
Not only are we taught by the Word not to murmur and complain about our difficulties, problems and stations in life..or whatever we are griping about....we are forbidden to quarrel among ourselves also. What a concept!
We are fortunate to have something from the past to look to that will push us to victory. The Bible says in Romans 15:4.."For whatever was thus written for our instruction, that by [our steadfast and patient] endurance and encouragement [drawn] from the Scriptures we might hold fast to and cherish hope." AMP
There is a difference between "talking" and "complaining" . If you need carpet for your bedroom per se..you can talk about it discuss it with your spouse (you can even disagree)..but if you begin to call your friends and your momma..(or whoever), fussing about how your husband won't let you buy what you want...that's complaining!
We all probably understand what complaining means..When we find ourselves complaining..and we just might, say THANK YOU GOD, OR THANK YOU JESUS!
If you find yourself in the store, the line is long..the cashier is a newbie and slow, and people begin to gripe..you stay calm and say..THANK YOU JESUS...help the cashier Lord. Then begin to be thankful for even being able to be in a line in a store..many would love to be able to do that!
When we complain...we remain..we close our minds to the opportunities often presented to us during these times. While waiting in line, you may be able to say a word of encouragement to someone, God may use you to calm others ..so don't complain, God has called us to THANKFULNESS!
Join me, starting tomorrow and throughout the month of April...Lord willing as we draw closer to God by living to abstain from complaining.
Follow my blog throughout the month..next I will address the reasons we complain..and who we are REALLY targeting when we complain!
