A WONDERFUL DAY TO VOTE

It was a cloudy day, and yes there was rain, but we thought, today is a good day to vote….That was yesterday,(Friday), and it was wonderful. While standing in line for about an hour and fifteen minutes, I kept thinking how nice to have my husband by my side....voting. I kept thinking of how wonderful, (I keep using that word), that the two of us were together to vote, I guess sorta like we have been together in other things, for nearly 23 years now.

We noticed how kind and considerate people were, and there was talking and laughter, as it very well should be…..There were elderly couples holding hands, younger ones with a quick gate and articulate speech, the middle aged smiles and a bit slower resolve; all together for one cause, to vote their conscious. I thought, how wonderful! Our first time voting in Florida....another first.

I couldn’t help but think, why all the confusion and wickedness about people voting years ago. People being killed and tortured for their right to exercise there right. Why would some think they were better than others? How foolish and inhumane. Are we not all Americans, are we not all people, did not God take one blood and make all of us? Read: Acts 17:26.........

There was a muslim lady in line with us, nobody bothered her, she had the scarf on and so we assumed……. but the people acted like decent people, and treated each other with respect. There were some sickly and elderly, and needed to get in line ahead of us, no problem; everybody said “go on, we don’t mind”. We observed the people and it didn’t seem that the world was going crazy as some would make us believe; yes we have problems, but God holds the destiny of America in His hands, so we vote and continue to trust God. We just do our part, and leave the rest to Him. We are different, but not so very different as many would like to believe. Remember, God is in control......

But I know this, as the Bible says, "And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries; but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits", Daniel 11:32. This is a good day to live and trust God, and all of God’s people should be doing just that!!!
Blessings,
Torrence
