In addition to the sacrifices on the Day of Atonement, God designated five different kinds of "gifts and sacrifices" (also called offerings") that the people could bring to the priests:
1. A burnt offering was a voluntary offering by someone who wanted to demonstrate commitment to God (Leviticus1; 6: 8-13)
2. A grain offering was a voluntary offering that accompanied other sacrifices (Leviticus2; 6: 14-23)
3. A fellowship offering was a voluntary demonstrating a person's faithfulness for fellowship with God (Lev. 3; 7:11-21.
4. A sin offering was a mandatory offering that paid for unintentional sins or helped cleanse an unclean person (Lev. 4: 1-5:13; 6:24-30; 12: 6-8; 14: 12-14).
5. A guilt offering was made to atone for unintentional sins against another person. (Lev. 5:14-6: 7; 7: 1-10; 14: 12-18).
