LOVE WORKETH NO ILL...TO IT'S NEIGHOR

It is amazing how you can find things while decluttering. A few days ago I was on a tear, cleaning up and rearranging some things when out of the blue, I came across this ancient writing. It has to be over ten years old, but I remember writing it and recording it on my radio program.

As I began to read it, the wording and inspiration came back to me..could have been written today. I would like to share it with you..

True love will not intentionally go about to hurt another. This act alone will prove whether we are of God or the wicked one. This is the test. Jesus said in John 13:34-35..”A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” God is love, and in Him is no darkness at all!

Love “worketh” no ill, the word worketh here means to labor, to work with force or forethoought. Love does not “labor” to hurt someone. Love has no premeditated thoughts of hurting or harming someone, has no forethought to harm. Isn't love wonderful! Yes it is, and we must all strive to love and to live in love one with another..oh Hallejuah!

Paul her in this passage cites four of the Ten Commandments dealing with our relationships with one another. He quotes Exodus 20:13-15,17, and Deut. 5: 17-19,21. summed up Love your neighbor as yourself. You see, you must love yourself, before you can even attempt to love others. Leviticus 19:18 reads “Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear a grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord. This scripture encompasses all of God's laws concerning human relationships. (Matthew 22:39-40). Responsibility to God, and responsibility to man.

If we truly love our neighbor (anyone we come in contact with), see Luke 10: 25-37); we will do what is in the best interest of the person for good. Remember the Good Samaritan?

Back to Romans 13:10 “Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” We we treat others with the same care that we have for ourselves, we will not violate any of God's law's regarding interpersonal relationships. We call Matthew 7:12 the Golden Rule, it reads “Therefor all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” Simply put..Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. How Wonderful!

1 John 4: 7-8 sums up the whole matter nicely..”Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God. He that loveth not knowest not God: for God is LOVE!

Love worketh no ill....to his neighbor...
